Biography: 

Tory Gabriel is the Fisheries Outreach Coordinator and Extension Program Leader for the Ohio Sea Grant College Program. He is based in the OSU Extension Ottawa County Office in Oak Harbor. His primary responsibilities include research, education, and outreach on the Lake Erie Fisheries, which often finds him interacting with the Lake Erie fishing public and stakeholder groups such as charter captains and fishing associations. He also oversees the Extension Program for Ohio Sea Grant.

Tory holds his bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology and his master’s degree in life science education from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Prior to his current position he was a science teacher in Fairfield county, and then served as a workshop instructor, laboratory assistant, and on fish sampling crews for Ohio Sea Grant and F.T. Stone Laboratory, The Ohio State University's biological field station on Lake Erie’s Gibraltar Island. Professional organizations to which Tory belongs include the American Fisheries Society (AFS) & Ohio Chapter of the AFS, International Association for Great Lakes Research, Lake Erie Charter Boat Association, Joint Council of Extension Professionals, and the Association of Natural Resource Extension Professionals.
